WARNINGS
RADIO CONTROLLED AIRPLANES, HELICOPTERS AND ALL PRODUCTS RELATED TO THEM ARE NOT CHILDREN'S TOYS AND SHOULD BE HANDLED WITH GREAT CARE. CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 14 SHOULD NEVER OPERATE THESE OR CHARGE LIPO BATTERIES WITHOUT A RESPONSIBLE ADULT. ALL PROPELLERS, ROTORS, EDF FANS AND OTHER PROPULSION UNITS ARE DANGEROUS- KEEP CLEAR OF THEM AT ALL TIMES.
LIPO BATTERIES SHOULD NEVER BE CHARGED UNATTENDED OR NEAR ANY FLAMMABLE MATERIALS. LIPO BATTERIES SHOULD NEVER BE CHARGED WITH ANY CHARGER EXCEPT A "BALANCE CHARGER" MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR LIPO BATTERIES. USE AN APPROVED CONTAINER TO CHARGE YOUR BATTERIES, OR PLACE THEM ON A NON-FLAMMABLE SURFACE AT LEAST 6 FEET FROM ANY FLAMMABLE MATERIAL. DO NOT LEAVE BATTERIES CHARGING OVERNIGHT, OR AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN FULLY CHARGED. NEVER PUNCTURE OR REMOVE THE COVER FROM A LIPO BATTERY- CONTACT WITH AIR WILL BEGIN IMMEDIATE AND INTENSE COMBUSTION OF THE CELLS!! CAREFULLY INSPECT FOR ANY DAMAGE OR DISTORTION ANY LIPO BATTERY THAT HAS BEEN IN A CRASH, AND DO NOT CHARGE OR REUSE ANY CRACKED OR DEFORMED BATTERY. IF A BATTERY GETS HOT, IMMEDIATELY PLACE IT IN A FIREPROOF CONTAINER AWAY FROM FLAMMABLE MATERIALS, PREFERRABLY OUTDOORS ON THE GROUND, AWAY FROM STRUCTURES, ETC. LIPO BATTERIES SHOULD BE STORED IN AN APPROVED FIRE SAFE CONTAINER, AWAY FROM ALL FLAMABLE MATERIALS.
FIRST, A WORD
Here at Killerplanes our main objective is to supply our customers with the world's best RC airplane reinforcement, which we call Crashproofing.
Crashproofing is a combination of Carbon Fiber rods, plastic plates, and other high-strength, lightweight modern materials that reinforces all of the foam parts and the "joints", meaning the spots where the different parts are joined together. We drill and groove the foam (and glue the rods and plates on in installed versions), so the entire reinforcement system is invisible to the naked eye. If you choose to have us do touch up with your job, you'll have a very hard time locating the entry points.
Of course, doing all this customization takes some time. Your plane will be unboxed and put into the lineup at the time your order is paid for, and will then move into the various parts of the workshop as the lineup moves through - first, drilling and grooving the foam, cutting rods and plates for your kit, then installing rods and plates at 3 glue stations (gorilla glue, hotglue, and contact cement). Then installation of other custom items. Last, filler, sanding, primer, and finally paint touch up.
As you might imagine, this takes some time. You DO want a nice job, right?
First, there's almost always a wait. We usually have a number of planes lined up waiting at each work station in the shop, so the waiting period changes according to the volume of orders. Your plane will move through the various work stations in the sequence determined by your place in line according to your order date. (We use the FIFO method whenever possible) The total time varies from several days to several weeks, and sometimes more. Therefore, if you have some time constraints, you'll need to email us at the time of your order and ask what the current waiting period is- we'll give you our best estimate, but please try to remember Murphy's Law- it applies in all workshops. We'll do everything we can to get your plane into your hands as fast as possible- we know what it's like to not have a plane to fly!
When you order a customized plane at Killer Planes, you are authorizing us to purchase a factory-new plane with your payment, whether from our warehouse or one of our distributors, and to open the box and remove whatever parts are to be customized in our shop** . As soon as we begin work on your plane in our shop, it is no longer returnable under existing industry return policies. We agree to perform the customization work you ordered in a timely manner, repack your plane into it's shipping box, and deliver it to you. We also agree that we are responsible for your plane while it is in our possession, and we agree to repair any foam damage done by us to new condition or better, or replace the damaged part before shipping it to you. If we discover damaged, missing, or non-working parts upon opening your box, we will advise you of this condition and begin the warrantee replacement process with the manufacturer for you. Replacement parts ordered under this agreement may be shipped to you separately.
**Killer Planes DOES NOT test electronics, wiring, hinges, screws and fasteners, moulded plastic or hardware parts.
Killer Planes customizing work is performed only on selected foam parts of the airframe. We drill holes (up to 1/4” x 48”) in or cut the foam for the purpose of installing reinforcing rods and/or tubes and plastic plates (Foam Prep orders). To fully install our reinforcement kit, all of the parts are glued to the foam as per our gluing instructions. (Fully Installed orders) Added finishing work may include filler and touch up paint (Touch Up orders). Killer Planes DOES NOT test or assume any responsibility for electronics, lighting, wiring, hinges, screws and fasteners, plastic moulded parts, or hardware parts, or foam “rash” from poor factory packaging. (If you have ordered a job including touch up, we will attempt to address any foam “rash” as well )
WARRANTEE AND DISCLAIMER
All Killerplanes.com products are sold under this warranty and disclaimer
User is required to read all instruction manuals and follow the manufacturers guidelines, and to make a thorough pre-flight check of all equipment, systems and controls. Killerplanes shall assume no liability for any damages, losses, or other costs, and DOES NOT accept responsibility for injury, crash damage, or ANY other damages that may result from the use of any items we sell or promote, including Radio Controlled Airplanes and all of their components, systems, parts, and related equipment. Great care shall be taken when using RC products. Read ALL instructions and warnings, and use your better judgement!
Killerplanes warranties all custom work performed by us to be free from defects in materials we use in our customizing, and of the highest level of workmanship. All custom items (such as Crashproofing installations) are individually produced and inspected by a craftsman, and are not shipped if they do not meet our standards. Any planes we perform custom work on are handled with the utmost of care, but occasionally some minor marring of surfaces may occur, since the planes are styrofoam and the tools are steel. We do high level repairs of any surface marring caused by our installations as part of the installation, including color matched paint. Some planes have noses, tails or other parts removed and reattached as part of the customizing process, and some reinforcing parts must be installed through the finished outside surfaces of planes, and some holes are drilled in the surface in some planes. This is a normal part of custom installations, and returns will not be approved based on these occurrences.
(NOTE: Some surface marring can occur to these styrofoam planes from poorly designed or executed packaging. We are not responsible for these conditions, but we will replair them if we have time, and we improve the packing where necessary when we re-pack planes like this. When you receive a Crashproofed plane with non-factory padding taped on, this is the reason it's there)
We DO warrant that our crashproofed planes will withstand impacts far greater than non-crashproofed planes. The words "Crashproofing" or "Crashproof" are NOT meant to imply that the planes are indestructible. They are trade names. All claims made by Killerplanes.com and Crashproofplanes.com regarding impact resistance are based on our testing, which involves crashing planes into GRASS COVERED EARTH surfaces. We make no claims of survivability of planes that impact other surfaces or objects. We do not warrantee or guarantee any work performed by others, including installations or assembly performed by customers.
Manufacturers warranties are provided and maintained by the manufacturer, where applicable, and requests should be addressed to the manufacturers. We will supply any customers with contact information for the manufacturers of the products that they have purchased upon request.
That said, Killerplanes will make every effort to ensure that you are happy with your product. We understand that a HUGE number of RC enthusiasts have many problems with customer service from other retailers, since we experienced the same thing ourselves when purchasing planes for testing. It's our policy to actually respond to our customers in a timely manner and address their concerns. Whenever you call or email us with technical questions or problems, you will be assisted by a KNOWLEDGEABLE RC PILOT or technician. When you deal with us, you'll find that we HONOR OUR WORD.

We've had few returns, and one of them was for a plane that the delivery truck managed to actually run over (at least, that's what the customer told us). Even with this record of customer satisfaction, we're still obliged to put our policies in writing, so here they are. (As an interesting note, several of these provisions were written as a result of the condition of several of the other returned items- if you can guess which provisions they are, you get a free lolipop.)
All products ordered from Killerplanes.com come with a 14 Day return policy, or until you have opened the box, which ever comes first and unless otherwise stated. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO CUSTOMIZED ITEMS. (**see RETURNS OF CUSTOMIZED WORK below). Please note that original shipping costs are not refunded. (**see SHIPPING below) Products that have been opened, assembeld or used in any way cannot be returned. Clearance items and Scratch and Dent items are sold "as is" and cannot be returned or exchanged under any circumstance. If you are returning an item, you are responsible for the cost of return shipping. All returns must include all packing material, printed matter, and all parts that were included in the box. Returned items may be subject to a 15% inspection and re-stocking fee. If an item arrives broken or malfunctions before being used, you may request an RMA number within 14 days of delivery. Once a plane has been assembled, returns are not possible. Once the RMA number has been issued, you must post the item for return within 48 hours.
If we are shipped an item for return that does not meet these specifications, we will NOT accept delivery of the package, we will NOT refund payment and will NOT pay for return shipping to you. (You may arrange for a pickup of these items, or send payment for return shipping. After 30 days, any such unclaimed items will be donated to charity and not recoverable. Please note that for ALL returns of any kind, the customer is responsible for all shipping costs. Please remember- All returns must be in the original box with all the original packing material, books, printed material, and all related items that were part of the original product, such as wires and plugs, etc. YOU CAN NOT RETURN ITEMS THAT HAVE BEEN ALTERED, such as electrical parts whose cases have been opened, or parts with wires or plugs cut off or changed. NO RETURNS WILL BE ACCEPTED IF NOT COMPLETE AS DESCRIBED ABOVE AND RETURNED TO US IN THE ORIGINAL PACKAGING. If we have accepted a return package because it looks OK on the outside, but there are items altered, damaged or missing on the inside, you will be charged for the cost of replacing the altered, damaged, or missing parts.
RETURNS OF NON-WORKING ITEMS
If you are returning an item because you can't get it to work and it works during our inspection, you will be charged a 20% testing and restocking fee, (This provision is here because we can't afford to provide a free testing service for people who don't know any or all of this- how to setup, test, troubleshoot, plug in, bind, hook up, power up, or run equipment that they purchase. We sympathize with people trying to learn all of this technical stuff, but we're a small company, and troubleshooting equipment that's actually in working condition costs money that we don't have.) If you are exchanging a "non-working" item that actually works when we test it, you will also have to pay for testing, and shipping and handling to have it returned to you.
For small unbroken items returned as "non-working", testing and S&H is a flat $25 fee if the item works properly. For large unbroken items, testing and S&H is $20 plus shipping cost. The purpose of these fees is to dissuade you from involving us in testing your equipment- if the problem is not with the part you returned, it means there's a problem with something on your end. Please check your equipment and your wiring carefully!
TIME LIMIT
All purchases must be inspected by the buyer within 14 days of delivery. It is the buyer's responsibility to ascertain the working condition of the item within this time limit. Claims for missing or broken items, non-functioning parts, damages, etc must be made within 14 days of delivery. Killerplanes reserves the right to charge a 15% restocking fee for any returns.
You must obtain an RMA number from Killerplanes before returning a package for any reason. RETURNS SENT WITHOUT AN RMA NUMBER WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
CUSTOM WORK
All custom work done by Killerplanes is done by order, performed by a skilled craftsman and inspected by a skilled craftsman, and no customized products are shipped without passing this thorough and careful inspection. Therefore, if you desire to return an item, please note that we can not refund charges for customizing work (any work that's done on a product by Killerplanes).
When we open a product for customization work, we often find mars or marks on foam planes from shipping, or due to poor packaging done at the factory. We endeavor to repair any such marks that we find, but we are not responsible for these minor shipping damages. If we discover during customization that a plane has arrived at our shop with such damage, we repack the plane with more padding at the damage locations, since damage of this type is usually caused by poor packing design or poor packing work done at the factory. Again, we do agree to perform this extra service for free during customizing jobs whenever possible, but we will not assume responsibilty for marring to styrofoam surfaces done during shipping, since even the cardboard boxes and some other packing material or parts are able to mar or dent styrofoam.
No replacement items or parts can be shipped until the defective item or part is received and inspected by Killer Planes. If you need a replacement before returning your item, you must purchase a new item and a refund will be issued after the original item is received and inspected by Killer Planes. Please refer to the policies noted above regarding all returns.

CUSTOMIZING WORK

The lead time can be anywhere from zero to ten days before the work is performed. You may make changes in the order up to the time it actually enters the shop. When the customizing is completed on your order, your product will be packed and shipped, and you will receive a shipping tracking number via email. After you place your order, we will not contact you until your product is shipped unless we have questions about any details, but feel free to email us at killerplanes@gmail.com if you'd like to know how your order is coming along. ORDERS INCLUDING CUSTOMIZING OPTIONS CAN BE CANCELLED ONLY BEFORE THE WORK HAS BEGUN, AND ONLY WITH EMAILED PERMISSION. PLEASE CLICK HERE TO SEND A STOP WORK REQUEST killerplanes@gmail.com
RETURNS OF CUSTOMIZED WORK: Because of the very custom nature of our work, with multiple choices available to make your plane specific to your desires, customized planes are not returnable. The reason is there is no guarantee that another customer will want the options you selected for your customization. If we do offer to allow you to return customized items for any reason, your refund will be a STORE CREDIT for the cost of the merchandise, not including shipping or customizing charges. Any refund of customizing charges will be addressed on an individual basis, and the refund will be made as a STORE CREDIT.
